Cuyamaca Woods
EMERGENCY INFORMATION:
Cuyamaca Woods
Established in 1996 by CW residents, the Cuyamaca Woods Fire Safe Council works closely with The California Fire Safe Council, local fire agencies, and property owners. The primary goal is to reduce fire risk in our community and ensure safe evacuation of our residents if necessary. The devastating 2003 Cedar Fire, which destroyed 51 homes in our community, underscores the extreme necessity for an organization like ours.
Working together as a community is a priority and vital to our safety.

Nestled in the tall oaks, pines and cedars of the Cleveland National Forest is the off-grid mountain community of Cuyamaca Woods. Established in 1967, it is comprised of 226 properties and many full or part-time residents who enjoy a quiet lifestyle marked by brilliant night skies full of stars and sharing our land with wildlife such as deer, wild turkey, grey fox, bobcat, and yes, even mountain lions.
